Andhra Pradesh has topped the ‘Ease of Living Index’ rankings release by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). Andhra Pradesh followed by Odisha and Madhya Pradesh have been awarded the three best states under AMRUT at the National Dissemination Workshop on Ease of Living Index, 2018, held in New Delhi AMRUT, launched in 2015, aims at providing basic civic amenities to improve the quality of life. The Ease of Living Index seeks to assist cities in undertaking a 360-degree assessment of their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. It was decided in June 2017 to rank 116 cities (all smart cities and million plus cities) based on the liveability parameters. Note: In A.P four cities were covered under Ease of Living Index. They are- • Tirupati which stands in fourth place • Vijayawada which stands in Ninth place • Vishakapatnam which stands in Tenth place • Kakinada which stands in 64th place
